OpenOdo is a private, offline-first vehicle log. This policy explains what data the app handles and how it is stored.
Summary
OpenOdo does not collect, transmit, or share any of your data.
The app has no account system, no analytics, no advertising, no crash
reporters, and no network access (the INTERNET permission is not
declared). Everything you enter stays on your device.
What the app stores
OpenOdo stores the information you enter, locally on your device:
- Vehicle details (name, make, model, year, VIN, units, currency, notes).
- Fuel and charging entries (dates, odometer, volume/energy, cost, station).
- Maintenance and expense records (service types, costs, shops, notes).
- Service reminders.
- Receipt references: if you attach a receipt, the app keeps a link to the image/PDF file you selected on your device. The file itself is not copied, uploaded, or shared.
How data is used
Your data is used only to display your own log and statistics, and to schedule local maintenance reminders. All calculations happen on the device.
Data sharing
None. OpenOdo never sends your data anywhere, and there is no third-party code that could. There are no servers operated by OpenOdo.
Backups and exports
You may export your data as a JSON backup or CSV file, which you choose where to save. Exports are initiated by you and remain under your control.
Deleting your data
All data is stored locally. Clear the app's storage (or uninstall the app) to permanently remove it. You can also delete individual vehicles, records, and reminders from within the app.
Permissions
OpenOdo requests no sensitive permissions. It does not request internet, location, contacts, or microphone access.
Changes
If this policy changes, the update will be reflected here.
